Company Background...

Lampcare was set up to provide complete lamp recycling by people from the lamp industry. Lamps by nature are hazardous not only in content but also in structure and as a very bulky and fragile waste, there are many problems in handling this waste stream. All of the existing customer service team and the key personnel have distributed lamps previously and therefore appreciate the best methods of transporting and handling lamp waste. With this knowledge and experience of client needs, the first recycling plant was opened in 2000 in Glasgow, Scotland. This was followed up with the first complete lamp recycling facility in close proximity to London being opened in early 2004 in Harlow.

Huge investment in Swedish technology enabled Lampcare to fully recycle without the need for third party involvement.

Following the award of many prestigious national contracts for throughout the UK and then the winning of the much sought after Canary Wharf contract in the summer of 2002, Lampcare developed the company into the first truly national total lamp recycler and we believe we remain the only company able to offer a standard charge to any UK mainland post code where all haulage charges are inclusive in their fees and where our own fleet travel to every area rather than chosen locations only. Unlike other service providers we use our own vehicles to collect all of our waste and do not use couriers to collect waste.

All revenue in Lampcare has been reinvested and by early 2004 Lampcare have two recycling plants together with a national customer support centre and four waste support depots strategically positioned to service a UK client base in a much shorter response time than our competitors.
